The Herringbones Parquet…a variation of the classic laying suitable for Solid Wood Parquet, 2 Layers Prefinished Parquet and 3 Layers Floating Parquet.

The Herringbones Parquet can be 45°, 60° or 90°.
The Herringbones Parquet 45°, known as “French Cut”, is characterize by the 45° cut of the heads of the slats. They will be put together, head in head, while laying.
The Herringbones Parquet 60°, known as “Hungarian Cut”, is characterize by the 60° cut of the heads of the slats. They will be put together, head in head, while laying.
The Herringbones Parquet 90°, known as “Italian Cut”, is characterize by the perpendicular position of the slats. It means they will be perpendicularly laid, head in head, to form a 90° cut.
The Herringbones Parquet 45° and 60° are expensive, compared to the 90°, since the production is more through and demanding.
The Herringbones Parquet laying can be parallel or diagonal to the walls and it can be further appreciated if matched with frameworks, purfles or homemade geometrical borders.
It can be realized on every wood species and several dimensions.
Because of its elegance and peculiarity, it is recommended for every internal space, even If not particularly ample and spacious, like apartments, offices, studies, hotels, theatres etc.

For the installation of the Herringbones Parquet, a craft work particularly through, is necessary turning to expert and qualified staff.
It needs to be laid down on solid bases, stable, dry and well levelled.
Even though this application is expensive compared to the usual, result is choreographic and trendy.

Maintenance Advices

The Herringbones Parquet maintenance imposes both ordinary and extraordinary care.
For the ordinary care is advisable to remove dust with a hover or an antistatic rag and wash the floor with a damp but very wrung out soft rag.
For the extraordinary care, suggested every 10-20 years, you must turn to specialized staff who, depending on the floor laid, will remove scratches or scores, or just to revive color, shininess and look.
